BSc Physics students at the University of Bristol opt to take an Industrial Group Project as part of their final year.

Students work in small teams to investigate a physics-related problem set out by an industrial/community partner. These projects happen over a semester and students work with a range of partners on projects including investigating arthritic penguins, the science behind the heat transfer of coals and developing thermal imaging cameras for monitoring volcanic ash plumes.

In addition to these projects, Physics students on the 4-year MSci Physics with Industrial Experience spend their third year in industry.

The department are always looking for more potential projects and partners for both the above schemes. Please get in touch with engaged-learning@bristol.ac.uk for more information or to express an interest.
